Author: csn    Time: 13-11-2008 00:13     Subject: Wolfe Waves Course and Faxes by Bill Wolfe (US$ 3000)

What is the Wolfe Wave?

Simply put, the Wolfe Wave is a natural rhythm that exists in all markets.  It is made up of waves of supply and demand that form their own equilibrium.  It was not "invented" by me, but discovered.  The key to its accuracy is in properly identifying the 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 points.  These are what give it its proper balance of equilibrium.  It is very important to identify the dominant Wave.  It is somewhat like recognizing those 3-D pictures.  After a while a smile comes to your face and you say: "WOW, I see it."

Why does the Wolfe Wave work so well?

    *       Market timing is not about finding the Holy Grail.
    *       Market timing is not about complicated algorithms.
    *       Market timing is not about colorful indicators and oscillators.

Market timing is about BALANCE.

Comment: IMHO, it is surprisingly easy to understand and yet very powerful. I use it myself for trading. Once I earn US$3000, I shall buy a course from him. Despite the high price, I think it is worth every single dollar.

Hi csn;
are you using it for Forex?
Congratulations that it works for you!
Author: csn    Time: 15-3-2009 00:23

Hello beautifultom,

How are you?

Yes, I am using it for forex. At first I used to get agitated for the long wait and closed the trade before it hits the target, which sometimes seemed impossible. But I couldn't be more wrong! It hits impossible targets, and hits for sure. Look at the EURCHF paly at the bottom !

Now I just Bill Wolfe's strict rules and let it work out on it's own !!

Results? I am attaching two setup I got last week. Have a look.

I was stopped out in the EURCHF setup. But the EURUSD? Worked like a charm.

With money management and entry rules described by Bill Wolfe, it has become a key setup I use for my trading plan.

Hope it will work for you too.

Hello beautifultom,

Thank you for your kind words and best wishes.

Meanwhile the Wolfe Wave continuues to amaze me.

Got this nice setup on daily AUDUSD chart for long Wolfe Wave today morning. I have already jumped in and going to hang in there for a couple of days.

Looks like a nice ride so far. What do you think? Wanna give this a try ?(In demo please )..

Author: csn    Time: 18-3-2009 23:28

OK, one more post here. Maybe I am bumping my own topic (which I do not like to do) but this is to illustrate the power of Wolfe Waves as I am getting them in my charts. Not to show off that I am a Wolfe Wave wizard. I am learning too !

I have entered the AUDUSD setup at 0.6569. The pair is moving nicely so far and now retracing after a spike in price.

Now, we have seen that WW (Wolfe Waves) work in daily and hourly charts. Yesterday I got a taste of it in 1 minute chart too. Have a look.

The thick white line is 200 period EMA (Exponential Moving Average) which provides some serious resistance/support in all charts. When the WW setup broken down below 200 EMA it seemed that this WW wont be able to make it.

After some hesitation, I decided to give it a try and jumped on board at 1.3032, just below the 200 EMA (Double click on the images to zoom in for more detail). Put a stop loss according to the guidelines laid out by Bill Wolfe. As expected, the market started banging it's head on the 200 EMA wall and I went out for a walk.

When I came back, Bingo ! Not only it has breached the wall but hovering at a respectable 1.3043 level. Within 10-15 minutes the market retraced a bit and then leaped to 1.3056,  just short of the target line. I sat tight, hoping it will touch the line but it didn't. I bailed out at 1.3050 when the market started a sell-off. I may sound cool, but those 3-4 minutes were as nerve-wracking as they can get!

I must admit that I didn't expect the target to be hit and as usual, was wrong once again. I told you that the Wolfe Wave has an uncanny ability to hit seemingly impossible targets.

Minutes later, the market bounced back from a low of 1.3041 and hit the target line at 1.3060. What can I say now?

This is a gem of a course and not another piece of worthless trading stuff. I hope you will agree with me after using Wolfe Waves for your own trading.

In my opinion this methodology is like elliot waves and xabcd/gartley so discretionary that QUANTS will not use it.
Author: csn    Time: 25-3-2009 23:28

Well, Yes and no.

I have tried to understand and Elliot Waves in the past and never quite got them. Gartleys are also good and have a very high success rate but I am not too much into them.

But this one is easy to understand and fits my style, I do not have the IQ needed to be a quant (I believe).

Regarding your opinion, have you used Wolfe Waves for your own trading? In that case, share your thoughts here.

Well, that was it..

(Double-click on the pic to zoom in)

Entry :                   16.03.09
Price:                    0.65690

Projected target:   0.7274

Exit:                       14.04.09
Price:                     0.72752 (Exited just below the thick white line, 200EMA was at 0.7284)

One month, 706 pips on a single trade !!

Wolfe wave predicted a target of 0.7274 almost a month earlier. Predicted not only the direction of the market, but also the target by a razor-sharp precision. Amazing ..

Exit was according to the rules stated by Bill Wolfe so I did not gave back my profits to the market.

IMHO, Wolfe Waves do fail, but this was an ideal picture-perfect trade.

As requested my beautifulom, posting a pic of a failed bullish Wolfe wave that I have got last week on USDCAD daily chart. Click on the pic to zoom in.

I went long at 1.2426, quite a late entry as I didn't spot the wave untill then.

This is a swing trade on a daily chart. I am stopped out for better as the price has failed to breach resistace at 1.2400 region and made almost 100% retracemant to the initial rally bar at the base trendline.

Not everything is lost although. The market may test the 200 EMA (Exponential Moving Average - thick white line) and then rally if it finds support. But that is only a possibility at this moment.

I will be watching it and keep my fingers crossed..

I can't help but share this ! This is the first time I have traded precious metals (Silver) with Wolfe Waves and (fortunately ) my trade is a success. Yes, Wolfe Wave sucessfully works with precious metals too !!!

Click on the pic to zoom in. The proof is below..

A bullish Wolfe Waves setup on 4H XAGUSD (Silver Spot) chart yesterday. Entered at 12.40. Decent entry but almost stopped out after the price retraced and came dangerously close to my stop. I could not take the pain any more and thought I'd close the trade before getting stopped out. Somehow changed my mind and stopped trading for the day without closing the trade.

Today morning when I opened the chart again, BINGO. But maybe I could have stopped out too.

The bullish Wolfe Wave was bang on target and I am out at 13.10 for a gain of 70 tics. Nice gain, huh?

Now, Wolfe Waves works for:

1. Forex
2. Precious Metals

I can certify that..

Pips4free, Wolf Wave is a trading strategy. It is not written like a book more of an instructional manual.
It teaches you how to trade a specific price pattern that can be very profitable.
Author: pips4free    Time: 26-5-2009 21:15

So does that mean there is no table of contents?  Also, when was it written or published?  Thank you.
Author: MrRF    Time: 26-5-2009 22:35

I don't know when it was published.
I'm not the owner of this thread... just trying to help.
Author: csn    Time: 26-5-2009 23:27

Do not know when it was published. Not mentioned anywhere in the course itself.
But the accompanying faxes were dated 1996.
Author: pips4free    Time: 27-5-2009 00:37

I ask because I already have the basic course, but not the advanced course.   I guess there is only one basic course that has not been revised since it was originally written.  So is the advanced course just the faxes?  If this is true, then it seems what you have contributed is both the basic and the advanced course.  If so, would it be possible to get just teh advanced course for a discounted price?

Just to be clear, I have a pdf file called "Wolfe Waves by Bill Wolfe" that is 46 pages and another pdf file called "Wolfe Waves System" that is 7 pages.  In your first post, you stated that your package includes files with these same two titles and that "Wolfe Waves by Bill Wolfe" contains the course and faxes.  In the file that I have, I don't see any faxes.  The first part is mainly text and the second part is mainly exhibits showing chart examples that refer back to the text in the first part.  Do you have a separate file that includes the advanced course, which I assume are the faxes?  Or might you have a lengthier version of "Wolfe Waves by Bill Wolfe" than what I have that includes the faxes?   Thank you for any help in clarifying this for me.

Look at the chart of USDJPY I got.

It's almost unbelievable! Looks like the USD had just shot up for a while to hit the bullish WW target. In order to hit the target it overcame the strong resistance of 200 EMA, then crashed big time. I must say one of those picture parfect setups you get while trading Wolfe Waves.

Now the bad part. I have seen this bullish WW setting up and marked it up on my chart for an entry. Later I just forgot about the setup and missed the whole move. Damn!

But yesterday I got another one on GBPJPY.

This one made up for the pain of the previous one. Once the take profit level of 155.65 (entry 154.38)had been hit, I re-entered at the market on 156.25 and let it run. Trade was open overnight with a profit of US$100.75 on 0.05 lots, ie 5 micro lots.

Just one from my experience.. once a bullish or bearish Wolfe Wave target has been hit, you should reenter and let it run with a tight stop loss (30 pips). Many times the bullish or bearish Wolfe Wave target hit signifies the start of a long and profitable swing on your favor if you can hang on. If not, then your tight stop loss will protect you in that case.

Wishing you luck.

Since this thread was started, I have not posted about bearish wolfe waves. It's true that they occur less frequently than bullish wolfe waves but thats not an excuse for not posting them. Maybe I was plain lazy to spot them in my charts.

Quite a number of potential bearish waves resulted in failed waves. At last got two of them to share here..

(Double-click on the pic to zoom in)

In this H4 EURGBP chart - setup on last Friday, I went short at the top. Price have come down quite close to the target level and I have bailed out to protect my profits. Now the price have retraced to retest the 200 EMA and I have shorted again. My plan is to hold on untill the price reaches the target line. A good, clean bearish wolfe wave setup.

Now watch this..

(Double-click on the pic to zoom in)

A bearish wolfe wave setup on weekly spot silver (XAGUSD) chart. I am following this baby for quite sometime now and the story is unfolding quite nicely.

Entered at 14.80 with 1 mini-lot where 1 tic movement amounts to 5 US$. The price have touched the 200 EMA and I am expecting some consolidation, range-bound trading or maybe a little rally as this is a solid support level. Once again, I am gonna hang on until the price touches the target line.

But wont be hesitating to leave this baby if our date turns sour, if you know what I mean..

Cheers

Make up your mind on a single Wolfe wave and trade that one. Do not make your chart look like garbage by looking at multiple waves even if they are present. You may hesitate or worse, lose the trade completely.

Oh boy, this must be price action at its finest. No indicators, clear chart and pure price action. Nope, the thick white one is 200 EMA, but that is to track longer term trend and has nothing to do with Wolfe Waves. Can be removed as well.

Great to see that this setup actually approaching the target despite retracing enough to render the setup invalid. But once again, as I told you, the punchline for Wolfe Wave should be "Stop at Nothing! "

How much points did I make? HAHA, I marked it and forgot it once again.

Even If I traded, should have stopped out at the horrific retracement. So, at least I have saved some money here.

Go through the charts that I have posted here and you will come to know that I have traded WW successfully for forex and precious metals(with my fair share of failed Wolfe Waves, of course). Bill himself trades S&P500 contracts, so works for futures as well.

I have never traded stocks with Wolfe Waves myself, but I I have seen precise WW set-up in several stock charts.

This one set up in EURGBP H4 chart. This one was special because I have got one bearish Wolfe Wave correct after long time. Many bearish ones are screwed. Heck, there no point crying but it certainly hurts when one good set up for which you have waited so patiently finally goes bad.

The target is not hit untill now, but the 200 EMA sucks prices towards it like a pump. So sooner or later, the markets are bound to test 200 EMA and thus hitting the target line.

But, there are no "must" and "will" in the market. If the target is not hit,  my trailing stops will come handy!

Good effort Buerg.

The WW has gapped up and consolidating. But it may go up and touch the target line (MACD is pointing upwards) or may come down (it always can !).

If you are long then move your stop to 1 tic below the lowest point of consolidation to protect profits and hold on.
